President Caraffa

«The adventure – began the president Antonio Caraffa, who is also an instructor – was born from the passion for this sport that unites a group of friends and to offer Marotta and the territory a further proposal for sporting activities and having fun.

We are the first pickleball ASD in the Marche where there is only one other field, in Ascoli.”

It arrived in Italy in 2018. A sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. It is almost always played in doubles, but singles is also very popular. The pitch measures 6.10 by 13.41 metres. Each half, divided by a net, contains two equal parts, called the service area, and another next to the net where it is forbidden to hit the ball on the fly. It is played with rackets with a solid plate, without holes. The ball is as big as a tennis ball but lighter. The point ends when it bounces twice in the opponent’s court, goes into the net, goes out or if the opponent hits it on the fly where he can’t. The game is won by the best of 3 games to 11.

«We are very happy to leave – continued Roberto and Riccardo Del Bianco – and we invite everyone to try this sport which is enjoying great success and also has an important role socially. We thank the municipal administration, as well as all the activities that support us, for temporarily granting us the area. Until the end of the summer we will try to bring together as many people as possible, then the idea is to move to a covered structure.”

The mayor Nicola Barbieri and the sports councilor Raffaele Tinti were satisfied and immediately engaged in some exchanges: «An agreement has been stipulated for the temporary use of the multipurpose track. We did it convinced of the importance of sport on both a physical and social level. A rapidly growing discipline which will increase the sporting offering in our area and, we are convinced, will bring together many young and old people.” On the 21st and 25th free lessons with the teachers. Open every day. Information: social pages, 3514332949.
