Man from Catania Freed by Flying Squad after Carrying Suspicious Weapon

On the afternoon of April 1st, Flying Squad personnel reported a twenty-six year old from Catania to freedom, because he was seriously suspected of carrying weapons or objects capable of offending, after being found in possession of an aluminum baseball bat.

The officers, passing through Piazza Montessori, noticed a man who was in a parked car who, due to his attitude, appeared suspicious.

Then, the check was started, during which the young man showed intolerance and agitation, so much so as to raise doubts that he was hiding something illegal. And in fact, following the search of the car, an aluminum baseball bat was found inside the luggage compartment, the possession of which the young man was unable to provide adequate justification for.

Given that it is forbidden to take clubs, knuckles (better known as “brass knuckles”) or other instruments that can be used as weapons out of your home, the young man was taken to the police station where he was formally investigated. The bat was seized and made available to the Judicial Authority.
