“Magi Shin Tae-yong” and “Tragedy in Doha”

KOMPAS.com – The elimination of the South Korean U23 National Team from Indonesia in the quarter-finals of the 2024 U23 Asian Cup brought reactions from the South Korean media, one of which was Nate Sports.

The Indonesian U23 national team managed to beat South Korea 11-10 on penalties after the two teams drew 2-2 for 120 minutes on Thursday (25/4/2024) evening local time.

The penalty shootout was tense with the 11 Garuda players and the remaining 10 South Korean players completing their task with only one from each team failing.

The penalty round was restarted from the first kicker and Ernando managed to save Lee Kang-hee’s penalty, South Korea’s 10th executor.

Park highlighted coach Hwang’s decision to replace five players from the team that played against Japan in their final group match.

Striker Lee Young-jun, midfielder Kang Sang-yoon and goalkeeper Kim Jeong-hoon, who consistently showed good performances in the first and second group matches, started the match from the bench.

“The strategy of outwitting coach Shin Tae-yong, a ‘fox’ who thought quickly, ended in a handshake that led to defeat,” he wrote.
