Löwen Frankfurt are parting ways with sports director Fritzmeier

The Löwen Frankfurt have released Franz-David Fritzmeier from his duties as sports director of the club from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). The Hessians did not disclose the background in their announcement on Tuesday. There will be no further comments for the time being, it said.

According to information from hr-Sport, Fritzmeier’s behavior is said to have led to the premature separation. Accordingly, there are accusations of bullying and outbursts of anger. The 43-year-old, who recently took over the coaching position as a personal coach, rejected the allegations in a written statement to hr-Sport.

Fritzmeier came to Frankfurt in 2017 and led the Lions back to the top division. Most recently, the club managed to stay in the league twice in a row.
