The fourth date of the Provincial men’s “Joaquín Febre” basketball tournament began on Friday night with three games in the First Division, and the local teams won all of them: Pico Football and Ferro Carril Oeste for the North Zone; and Students in the South.
At the “Ángel Larrea” Park there was a great game because Pico defeated Sportivo Realicó in extra time by 78 to 72, after equaling at 62 at the end of the regular 40 minutes. Thanks to a great performance by Cristian Negrotto, author of 25 points, the Dean recovered from a bad start (he scored six points in the first quarter) and was left with a very tough game.
Emiliano Sombra added 22 points and Tomás Olivero, 17. In Sportivo, Alejo Sosa Quiñones stood out with 20 goals along with Joaquín Constantini (18) and Santiago Leone (16). Partials: 6-15, 31-30, 46-47, 62-62 and 78 72.
In another attractive match played in General Pico, Ferro beat Cultural Argentino on their court by 89 to 79 thanks to the great performance of their kids because Joaquín Roig was the scorer with 22 points, Emiliano Vassolo added 17, Luca Capello 16 and Valentín Chaves 14. On the visit there were goals shared between Martín Moiraghi (18), Maximiliano Fernández (17) and Federico Araujo (16). Partials: 20-19, 37-35, 64-61 and 89-79.
Estudiantes, for their part, achieved a great victory in the Santa Rosa duel against Belgrano by 68 to 52. Before a good crowd at the Coliseo Celeste, the local team was always on top and Matías Fernández Ichoust stood out individually, with 21 points , along with an enormous task by the youth Juan Cruz Hoya, who scored 18 goals. Santiago Orueta Garmendia contributed 15. In the “Tricolor”, point guard Mariano Zárate stood out with 16 points. Partials 19-14, 34-27, 51-39 and 68-52.
