Lobzhanidze leaves Toulon and joins Oyonnax as medical joker

The Georgian scrum-half arrives as a medical joker for New Zealand full-back Tony Ensor.

The Georgian scrum half from RC Toulon, Vasil Lobzhanidze, has signed up with Oyonnax, bottom of the Top 14, as a medical joker until the end of the season then for a period of two years from July 2024, announced the Ain club, last in the Top 14, on Wednesday.

Aged 27, Lobzhanidze started rugby at the Armazi club in Tbilisi before joining France in 2016 in Brive where he plays until 2023, the year he arrived at RC Toulon (RCT) as Baptiste’s medical joker Canary.

With the RCT, he participated in seven meetings. In Oyonnax, Vasil Lobzhanidze is the medical joker for New Zealand fullback Tony Ensor (32), forced to end his career for medical reasons (concussions).
