Yes, nice. I was worried about the midfield, which has been very busy lately, but the boys did a great job. The worm was running out of batteries, but he kept going at will. If I hadn’t seen that he was limping, he would have stayed on the field. I am very satisfied with the team performance. And also that we were better after the break and deservedly won.
You mentioned that Červ was driving at will in the end. Author of the winning goal, Pavel Šulc, too, because he was having cramps before the end, but he still got up and went for one more sprint.
Pavel is hardworking, intelligent. If he was able to play with cramping before we replaced him, I’m smack in front of him. The emotions that he wants to play at all costs are fantastic. It shows his character.

From a tactical point of view, was it Pilsen’s best performance under you?
I can’t tell. Our defense is very functional, the boys are able to fully concentrate. Defensiveness troubles us in, quote, more mundane matches. We will easily get four goals at home. If we are in solid condition, especially for big matches, the players can prepare. Playing on the European stage gave them confidence. He knows that it is possible to play with teams that are above us in the Czech league.
Which you do brilliantly. Recently you beat Sparta, Slavia even for the second time. On the other hand, you sometimes donate points to teams below you.
We have been building a new team since the summer. First he stood on clay feet, then the foundations began to solidify. We are always moving forward. Six weeks before the end of the season, we play three competitions. Sometimes our legs give out, we don’t have that kind of squad. We cannot, for example, use Jirka, Valenta, Durosinmi… We pay a tax for this. The opponents above us have wider squads. Now we play four games in eleven days, which is crazy. It is not humanly possible to avoid a weak moment.
Was it difficult to prepare the team for Slavia when you have a demanding rematch in Florence waiting for you on Thursday?
It wasn’t. I knew I could use up to five players on Sunday who couldn’t play in the first duel with Florence. You know, when the Prague S come, the motivation is huge.
After the game, the whole stadium was calling your name. What emotions were going on inside you?
I do not even know. Anyway, it wasn’t unpleasant. But I would like them to summon my assistants as well. I don’t want to tear everything down, this is a team effort. In Pilsen, I have the best realization in my career.
