Ligue 2: Auxerre starts strong again, the Greens finish, Bordeaux almost saved

The race for Ligue 1: Auxerre starts strong again, the Greens and the SCO still there

It is now almost a certainty: there are only three left in the running for direct accession to L1. The best placed is obviously the leader from Auxerre who, beaten during the last two days, resumed his march forward and put in the form against Laval (4-0). After less than a quarter of an hour, Christophe Pelissier’s players had already scored twice, by Lomami against his side (4th) and the first goal in two months from Florian Ayé (13th). The attacker then scored a double (33rd) before causing the expulsion of Bobichon (45th+2).

But the hunters did not give up. Angers (2-1 at Guingamp) and Saint-Etienne (2-0 at Grenoble) both won at the end of the match and kept their chances of progressing without going through the play-offs intact. Olivier Dall’Oglio’s players can still thank their goalkeeper Gautier Larsonneur, author of several saves in the first period. The Greens took the advantage on a header from a corner by Batubinsika (80th), while the SCO had to wait until the 83rd minute and the 14th goal from Lois Diony to take the three points in Brittany.

The race for the dams: Rodez bends but breaks Paris

The beautiful story of Rodez continues. With its €8 million budget, the Aveyron team is now in fourth place, its best ranking since the end of September. However, they suffered enormously against a Paris FC who displayed their superiority for a long time and multiplied the opportunities in the first hour. But their goalkeeper Jaouen performed some miracles where he was replaced by his defenders, authors of two incredible saves on their line. The Ile-de-France residents were also unhappy, since Kolodziejczak scored against his side on a half-chance from Aveyron (36th). They see Pau (6th) and Caen (7th) coming back to a small point.

The race to maintain: Bordeaux almost saved

Despite the strike of the Ultramarines, who only arrived after the first quarter of an hour and armed with a banner “We do not support a club which abandons us”, the Girondins did not tremble against Dunkirk (2- 0) and made a huge step towards maintaining it. The players of the volcanic Albert Riera also scored two very nice goals, with a left volley from Vipotnik (38th) then a magnificent dive from Davitashvili (46th), the man in form at the end of the season in Gironde. And since no other candidate for retention has won, the people of Bordeaux can really take a breather. They are now 8 points ahead of the red zone with four days to go and their maintenance should now be a formality.
