The final adjustments were underway, two days before the opening of Breakzone, at the Espace Newton, avenue de Paris in Niort. Here, their slogan sums up their approach: “Come and destroy everything, even your voice. » Enora Arnaud and Benoît Morales are opening on Saturday, after five months of work, two concepts in one: on one side, three karaoke rooms, on the other, three destruction rooms. “It’s unique to have these two activities”smiles Benoît.
“We can be in the disco room and sing Disney”
Karaoke is obviously not new, other establishments offer special evenings, with success. The originality of Breakzone is to offer « box », closed rooms that can be booked. Three, in total, with three different themes: Hollywood, disco and rock’n’roll. “People ask us if the songs are related to the decoration, but not at all. We can be in the disco room and sing Disney”, smiles Enora Arnaud. The rooms can accommodate up to five amateur singers.

On the other side of the building, we pass into the « zone de destruction ». After a first airlock where the participants must equip themselves, they are in front of three different rooms, depending on the size of the team. Here, armed with a baseball bat, a golf club, a crowbar or a hammer, your choice, they are ready for fifteen minutes of letting off steam. They will then be able to massacre, explode, destroy objects with all the energy they want.
Typing on screens
Crockery, bottles, screens, keyboards, computer towers, household appliances: everything goes there. “We wanted to recover old equipment from the recycling center, but we don’t have the right”, smiles Enora Arnaud. Benoît Morales completes: “We have partnerships with local players, who give us what they cannot repair. We collect the bottles directly from the restaurants. » In fact, using new equipment is out of the question. And the debris is collected for recycling.
The rooms have been specially designed to allow customers to smash everything.

“It’s a concept that comes from the United States. There are a few rooms in the Paris region, or in the north, another in La Rochelle, but more geared towards businesses”, summarizes the manager, who spent the first part of his career in catering, in the Paris region. A way to let off steam, also physically, they admit. “Some psychologists recommend it, advances his companion. We are not here to advocate violence, but more so that people can let loose together and vent their frustrations. »
It will cost, depending on the objects to be destroyed, between €25 and €50 per person, for a duration of fifteen minutes. For karaoke, it will be €15 per person, to sing for 1 hour 30 minutes.
