Latvian Basketball Player Artūrs Žagar Nearing Return to the Court After Injury

Latvian basketball player Artūrs Žagar’s return to the court is getting closer, so time is moving much slower for him at the moment, because he can’t wait for that moment. He himself already feels that he is fully ready to resume playing professional basketball again, he said in an interview with the program “Sporta Studija”.

“It seems to me that I am already at 100%, sometimes I forget that I have that injury,” he said in an interview with “Sporta Studijai”. “It helped me that I know many people who have gone through it themselves – Rihards Lomažs and Dāvis Bertāns. He wrote to me after the injury that it might feel like it was going to be a long road and that it might feel like walking through a desert with no end in sight. Last week I got the feeling that I’ve been floundering for five months but I’m not making any progress because I can’t play. This is the longest time I have not been on the pitch. Now the return is approaching, so time goes even slower”

“It’s a strange feeling that I’m with two teams during the season, but I’m not really with one. At first, the rehabilitation was in Turkey, now I am back in Vilnius, but I was welcomed very warmly here. With the agents and Fenerbahce, we decided that if I return to the field, it is better to play and finish the season here, so that I can prepare for the summer and the next season,” said Žagar.
