After 119 years of history in German football, Bayer Leverkusen won its first Bundesliga title with a 5-0 victory over Werder Bremen, breaking the hegemony of Bayern Munich, winner of the previous 11 editions. Those led by the Spanish Xabi Alonso (center) have 16 points more than the Bavarians with five games remaining, with a record of 43 games without losing in all competitions this season.
