Kenneth Taylor attracting interest from ‘big clubs’ as Ajax nears end of season

could just be busy with his last matches for Ajax. According to Wilfred Genee, the young midfielder would be on the list of many ‘big clubs’, one of which is really concrete.

During the broadcast of Veronica Offside Genee would like to talk about Taylor, who played a strong match against FC Twente (2-1) and provided the assist for Brian Brobbey’s winning goal. “He also seems to have been followed by a number of very big clubs, and seems to have even had an offer from one very big club. I think he’ll just leave at the end of the season. He is doing better and better and if you put him in a better team, he could function very well.”

Andy van der Meyde also praises the 22-year-old midfielder. “I think so too. Ajax started playing differently in the second half (against FC Twente, ed.), when he got to 10. He pulled the cart. He was present, fast, I also thought he was good in transition. Earlier He sometimes returned quietly, now he worked hard for the team. Mentally strong player.”

On the other side of the table, Wim Kieft is less optimistic. “He is not going to a big club. We have seen it with Gravenberch, for example. He goes to Bayern Munich and I understand that. You talk to the trainer and he says: ‘I have all kinds of ideas with you.’ At Bayern they think, so to speak: we still have twenty. Why would it work at Liverpool? I just don’t understand that way of thinking.”

Kieft does have an example of how it should be done. “You can also build a career and earn a good living, as Koopmeiners did. He went from AZ to Atalanta, a sub-topper.” The international has now become a star player in Bergamo and could make a switch to a top club in Europe this summer.
