Kei Nishikori to Headline Danube Upper Austria Open powered by SKE 2024

The Danube Upper Austria Open powered by SKE 2024 (May 5-12, 2024) features an absolute top star this year.

A few days ago, tournament director Florian Leitgeb announced a former top 10 player, and after intensive discussions, participation has now been confirmed.

With Kei Nishikori, the former world number four and 2014 Grand Slam finalist will serve at the ATP 100 Challenger in Mauthausen.

After Dominic Thiem last year, another former top 10 player, Kei Nishikori, is coming to Mauthausen in 2024. The 34-year-old is not only a star in Japan, but has also made a name for himself on the international tennis stage.

Nishikori, who is coached by Michael Chang (French Open winner in 1989) and Max Mirnyi, won twelve titles on the ATP World Tour in his career and had his career high ranking as number four in the world in 2015.

In his career so far, he has often reached the semi-finals and quarter-finals of Grand Slam tournaments and only had to admit defeat to Croatian Marin Cilic in the final of the 2014 US Open.
