Karl-Anthony Towns Cleared for Training as Timberwolves Eye Playoff Push

Karl-Anthony Towns has been given the green light for regular training in preparation for a return to play, the Minnesota Timberwolves said Tuesday.

A four-time All-Star, including this year, Towns underwent surgery on his left knee on March 12.

In his absence, Minnesota was 11-5 heading into Tuesday’s game against the Washington Wizards at home.

The T-Wolves, Denver Nuggets and Oklahoma City Thunder are battling for first place in the West. There are four regular season games remaining for each club.

Towns played in 60 games this season, averaging 22.1 points and 8.4 rebounds.

He posted a career-best three-point success rate of 42.3%.
