Just missed the podium
On April 16th, 2024 we went early in the morning by minibus to Neusäß near Augsburg for the Swabian district finals. On the bus was the Bogy’s judo team, consisting of Jan Felix Eckert, Lukas Vogeli, Anton Ruf and Claudius Ochs. All students were excited about their weight at the initial weigh-in, as the students are divided into five different weight classes. The first encounter was against the judo team from Friedberg High School. Here the students did well against the eventual winning team and were able to achieve a draw. Afterwards, the team from the Königsbrunn high school was a little stronger, as they were able to win three of the five matches. It was now clear that the last encounter against the Neusäß high school team would decide the placement. Here, too, both teams fought on equal terms, resulting in a draw.
In the end we only managed fourth place, but after a brief disappointment the joy of a great day together prevailed.
