Jordi Fernández will be the new coach of the Nets

The Brooklyn Nets announced the hiring of Spanish Jordi Fernández as their new coach for the next NBA season after being left out of the 2024 playoffs.

With this addition, the team seeks to recover from its first season in the last six years in which it failed to advance to the postseason.

Fernández also becomes the first Spaniard in history to coach in the best basketball in the world and arrives after spending the last two seasons as an associate coach with the Sacramento Kings.

“As we continued our extensive search over the past six weeks, it became increasingly clear that Jordi is the best coach to lead the team going forward,” Nets general manager Sean Marks said.
