Jeremías Lucco’s Bittersweet Debut: A Rising Star Cut Short

There is no doubt that Jeremías Lucco is one of the great projects of the Belgrano youth teams. And more than a project, for many it is already a reality.

The midfielder or winger from Colonia Tirolesa, just 18 years old, has been earning a place in the Pirate’s first team for some time now.

His talent, his explosion and the creativity he has have placed him in a place where he is already observed by teams from abroad.

This Tuesday, Lucco had the chance to start for Celeste in the Copa Sudamericana debut against Inter from Brazil.

But what was a dream quickly faded.

Jeremías had to ask for a change early, after six minutes, when he felt discomfort that forced him to leave the court. The Peruvian Bryan Reyna took his place.

Jeremías Lucco was injured as soon as Belgrano started against Inter. (José Gabriel Hernández / The Voice).

Once he arrived at the bench, Lucco burst into tears due to sadness and anger at missing out on the chance to play in such an important match.

Ulises Sánchez’s recent injury is already a problem for Belgrano (he tore his ligaments and will be out for more than six months).

Everyone hopes that this injury to Lucco will be somewhat shorter and that he will soon have revenge.
