At the ‘2024 Korea Middle and High School Badminton Federation Long-term National Badminton Competition’, first-year students Kim Tae-hyun and Lee Min-jae of Jeongju High School won the men’s doubles match.

The Jeongju High School team had seven sophomores and six freshmen participating in the competition held in Miryang, Gyeongsangnam-do from the 24th to the 31st of last month.

As a result of the competition, Park Seo-jun and Han Hyun-woo ranked 3rd, along with winning the first-year men’s doubles championship, and defeated strong players across the country, including reaching the quarterfinals in the team event.

The Jeong High School badminton team was founded last year with the full support of Jeongeup City, and players from other regions are also entering the school, becoming an elite school for nurturing excellent badminton at the national level.

In particular, the team was selected as a standing member of the badminton junior national team (Kim Yun-hoo, Choi Jae-sang), and is evaluated as an exemplary example of the city’s sports talent development support project.

Mayor Lee Hak-soo said, “We will continue to work together with the administration and the school to continue to provide interest and support to foster elite badminton players.”
