Venezuelan prospect Jeferson Quero suffered a tear in his throwing shoulder and will have to undergo surgery to repair it. MLB confirmed that he will miss the rest of the year.
Quero, the Brewers’ third-best prospect according to MLB Pipeline and No. 33 in all of Major League Baseball, dislocated his right shoulder in his Triple-A debut with a slide at first base.
The 21-year-old’s leave will initially be nine months.
“We hope to return to full health for the 2025 preseason… I wanted to fix this and be ready for next season,” said Brewers general manager Matt Arnold.

“His campaign is over, I feel bad for the boy, but we firmly believe in him. He is a tremendous boy. Tremendous player. “We feel very good about his future,” said the manager.
