Jakub Voráček’s heart is in the right place. When Ortel learned from the doctors that his beloved sister Petra was suffering from multiple sclerosis, he took the situation into his own hands and founded a foundation that has been helping these patients for several years. In an interview with eXtra.cz, the athlete recalled the difficult times when he learned about his sister’s illness and said how he is now.
Jakub Voráček usually appears in society with a smile on his face, but at home he has one big problem. His sister Petra was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis a few years ago. As he admitted in an interview for eXtra.cz, when he learned about the diagnosis, it was a huge blow and shock for him. He was looking for ways to help these patients and founded his own foundation.
“So far, Ségra is holding up. She’s doing quite well. But it’s true that those patients are simply getting worse. I’ve known a lot of those patients and you can’t stop that. She went down mentally as well, so we decided to provide those patients with psychotherapy. I was in the prime of my life and she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.” he recalled a difficult moment in his life.
The Jakub Voráček Foundation has been helping for several years
Because of the disease that afflicted his sister, he decided to start a foundation and help patients. “After my sister was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, she went through various tests. I found out what kind of conditions those patients have and I realized that those patients are not given that much attention and care. And they need it the most. Your brain works, and the body does not,” explains.
In addition, the Jakub Voráček Foundation will become a non-profit partner for the International Film Festival in 2024. “I’m really looking forward to it. We’ve been talking about it for about two or three years, now it’s finally clicked. I’m very happy that we have this opportunity. For those patients, every crown is important and it can be said that it can save their lives. Now I have more time for the foundation, so I’m very happy.” he added.
