Rome – There are two Bronze medals won by the Azzurri at the Judo Grand Prix in Antalya, Turkey. An important event on the way to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

The first to climb onto the third step of the podium was Dong Dong Camanni, third in the J1 -73kg category.

Bronze medal also for Valerio Romano Teodori in the J1 -90 kg.

In addition to the two medalists, Valerio Asia Giordano (J1 -57 kg), Matilde Lauria (J1 -70kg), Valerio Arancio Febbo (J1 -60kg) and Simone Cannizzaro (J2 -90kg) presented themselves on the Antalya tatami.

Silvio Tavoletta, technical director of judo at Fispic, commented on the results of the Grand Prix as follows: “The national team presented itself in Turkey to obtain points for qualification for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. As technical director I am proud of all the boys. An important element for this team was missing in Antalya: Carolina Costa, who like us was supporting from home. Two well-deserved bronze medals. Congratulations to Valerio Teodori and Dong Dong Paolo Camanni. Well done Matilde Lauria who, unfortunately, came across a draw that was prohibitive to say the least: I’m sure we’ll do it again at the Tbilisi Grand Prix. Too bad for Simone Cannizzaro, who also paid a difficult draw. In Georgia, however, we will be ready to play until the end. It’s also regrettable for Asia Giordano, because dividing your time between studying and judo isn’t so easy. Special mention for Valerio Arancio Febbo, very good despite his lack of experience. Go on like this. The coaches Alessia Regis and Francesco Faraldo are extraordinary, always on point: in Antalya they outdid themselves. Thanks also to those who continue to work from home like Marianna Palumbo and Fabio Martellacci. Thanks to our physiotherapist Giorgio Perexample and then thanks to all of Fispic, to the president in particular, who allows us to chase our dreams. Now head and heart at the Tbilisi Grand Prix”.
