Ipswich Town has one foot in the Premier League. They won 1-2 when they visited Coventry City. Kiefer Moore gave Ipswich an early lead. In the second half, Haji Wright scored the equalizer, but Cameron Burgess gave Ipswich the important three-pointer. This gives Ipswich a three-point lead over Leeds United with a game to go, who have a better goal difference.

Particularities:

After eight minutes it was already a hit for the visitors from Ipswich. Wes Burns was sent away beautifully, reached the back line and laid it back to Moore. The tall striker finished coolly. Both teams had a few chances before halftime, but both goalkeepers excelled with nice reflexes.

After more than an hour of play, Coventry leveled. After a clever through ball, Wright was put into scoring position. With a low, hard bang he shot the ball under goalkeeper Brad Collins: 1-1. Not long afterwards, the Ipswich fans who traveled with us were able to cheer again. Coventry was unable to clear a free kick, after which Burgess was able to score: 1-2. In the eleven minutes of extra time, it was still a bit of a tremble for Ipswich, but the victory was over the line.

With the victory, Ipswich is almost certain of promotion to the Premier League, where it last played in the 2001/02 season. With one more game to play, the lead over number three Leeds United is three points. A draw in the last game against Huddersfield next Saturday is therefore sufficient.
