International Judo Tournament of the 5 Continents in Toulouse: A Showcase of Global Talent

International tournament of the 5 continents in Toulouse

Les Ours Judo Club, the Grisolles club in the Toulouse region, organized its 4th international tournament of the 5 continents over two weekends, now known throughout the world. For this edition, no less than 24 countries had confirmed their participation, with for example Senegal or the United States to name but a few. Under the eyes of Senator Robert Hue and national photographer Emmeric Le Person, two representatives of the Briennon Judo Club made the trip and therefore pinned a “FRA” bib on their back.

On May 2 in seniors, in Grisolles, Jérôme Sénéchal (-66kg) had a great competition, winning all the fights in his group. He therefore finds himself in the eighth-finals, and there also wins the fight. Arriving in the quarter-final, he met a man from Loire whom he knew well, a several-time national medalist. Jérôme had to lose against the future winner of the category, but still took a good 5th place.

On May 8 in cadets, in Saint-Sauveur, Léo Chanfray (-60kg) was there. He also won all his group fights, then his round of 16. He won again in the quarter-finals and therefore found himself in the last four. His journey ends in the semi-final, with the bronze medal around his neck. Also note the 5th place of Marion Goby (JCR) in -48kg.
