Interclub Judo Tournament Promotes Camaraderie and Sportsmanship at Francis-Cade Martial Arts Hall

The Francis-Cade martial arts hall hosted an interclub judo tournament on Saturday afternoon. On the tatami, around a hundred judokas from Plélan-le-Petit, Dinan, Ploubalay, Pleudihen responded to their counterparts from Plancoët.

The competition was contested between the youngest, chicks and mini-chicks, while the refereeing was provided by the competitors themselves. Beyond the sporting side, the competition was above all intended to be family friendly.

The goal of this afternoon is for the young people to meet on the tatami with other judokas from different clubs. Several tournaments take place during the year, each club hosts in turn and we end the season with a gala,” explains Laurence Verhaeghe, president of the plancoëtin club.

For her part, Clémence Héry, judo teacher, recalled the main principles of this sport based on respect, moral code and self-control. Once the tournament was over, each participant left with a medal.
