Intensity Rises as Milwaukee Brewers Take Down Baltimore Orioles in Feisty Matchup

The cold and rain at the start of the major baseball season did not prevent the intensity from increasing a notch between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Baltimore Orioles on Friday during the first game of the series between the two teams .

The benches emptied in the 6th inning when the Brewers’ Willy Adames began arguing with Orioles catcher James McCann. It is unclear what the two men said to each other, but the players left their respective dugouts as the feud dragged on.

Home plate official Adam Hamari attempted to separate the two players before the players arrived from the dugouts. Adames seemed not to have appreciated McCann’s comments towards him.

Managers Pat Murphy and Brandon Hyde also had a long, heated discussion in the presence of the officials, but the situation remained under control.

Adames even hit a single as soon as he resumed his at-bat. Earlier in the game, the Brewers shortstop hit a three-run homer that contributed to his team’s crushing 11-1 victory.

Adames finished his day with 3 hits in 5 appearances, in addition to 3 runs scored and 3 RBIs.

William Contreras and Gary Sanchez also hit the long ball in the victory. For Sanchez, it was his first long ball in his new uniform.

Freddy Peralta (2-0) earned the victory after limiting the Orioles to just one run, in addition to recording 11 strikeouts.

Tyler Wells (0-2) struggled. He allowed four earned runs in as many innings of work, then Jonathan Heasley allowed six more in just two innings on the mound in relief.
