Kingsley Coman may have been seriously injured in the home game against 1. FC Köln while trying to get the ball in the opponent’s penalty area. The Frenchman immediately held onto his right leg. After a break in treatment, he was escorted off the field and was no longer able to stand with his right leg.
This is particularly bitter for the Frenchman as he has only just returned from a long break following a torn medial ligament in his knee. Coman has only 17 games to play this season.
Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel had no explanation for the numerous injuries this season even before another top player was injured. “The fact is that it is simply too much and that it has been with us throughout the year. It continues throughout the entire season. Research into the causes is taking place on many levels, but we don’t have the answer yet.”
Sané is missing with pubic bone problems
Most recently, national player Serge Gnabry suffered a torn muscle fiber in his thigh during the 2-2 draw in the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League at Arsenal FC and was out again. Leroy Sané was also unable to play against Cologne due to a persistent pubic bone injury.
New guy not in the squad: “There was a residual risk”
On the other hand, there are no worries about Manuel Neuer, although he was also not in the squad against Cologne and was represented by Sven Ulreich. “Manu reported adductor problems in training yesterday,” Tuchel explained before the game Sky. “We checked again this morning because he really wanted to play.
