Indervalle Joins Forces with Institute for Blind and Deaf Children for Paralympic and Deaflympic Sports Characterization Event

Santiago de Cali, April 17, 2024. For the first time, the Government of Valle del Cauca through Indervalle joins with the Institute for Blind and Deaf Children in a special day of Paralympic and Deaflympic sports characterization with people between 10 and 30 years old with visual and hearing disabilities.

The event will take place this Thursday, April 18 at 5B2 #37a-50 street, San Fernando headquarters of the institute’s educational campus and will be led by ‘Alquimia’, a professional biomedical team from Indervalle, experts in the Paralympic sector, who will be in charge to evaluate specific disabilities of sports characterization.

“This activity aims to identify the physical potential of those interested and link them in different Paralympic disciplines of a visual and deaf Olympic nature and strengthen the generational base of sport in the department with our Valle Oro Puro program,” said Ana Milena Orozco, manager of Indervalle. .

The event will take place from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm with logistical support from staff of the Institute for Blind and Deaf Children. Its general director, Pedro Pablo Perea, indicated that “people interested in this activity must bring a medical history and visual examination and audiometry.”

The objective is to develop profiles and guide those who wish to train as high-performance athletes in disciplines offered, such as field and track athletics; for swimming, adapted chess, visual 5-a-side football, visual judo, for table tennis, auditory indoor football, bowling and paracycling.
