Soest’s mayor, Dr. Eckhard Ruthemeyer designed the new Soest tennis hall, which, according to his suggestion, should probably be better called “Mahler Hall” in the future.

Wilfried Mahler from BW Soest was a leading initiator of the completely new building, alongside Thomas Nübel and the late Hans Kanne. However, “it will still be a few weeks before the million-dollar project at the Jahnstadion can be used,” as Thomas Nübel explained.

The electronic booking system including temperature, light and entry control still needs to be installed, and minor work also needs to be done in the changing rooms. The players can then play their games on the bright courts illuminated by glare-free LED spotlights, and a solar system will also be installed on the roof.

Architect Timo Kaiser aligned the entrance to the mansard hall on the city side towards Dasselwall. What is also special is that the four Soest tennis clubs operate the hall, represented by the managing directors Thomas Nübel (Soester TV), Rainer Hannß (TuS Ampen), Stefan Güttmann (TV Deiringsen) and Stephan Grae (TC Blau-Weiß).
