The director of the IMSS, Zoé Robledo, explained that this is an action plan so that no person is left without medical care and to cover the missing vacancies in 23 hospitals in Mexico, 276 municipalities and 281 towns in Mexican territory.

“It was identified that some – hospitals – only had an intern doctor and there was no doctor assigned to the health center, and in some cases there was an assigned doctor, but only one, and what we are looking for is that in all the centers health of an office, there must be at least two general practitioners to be able to work seven days a week,” said the head of the IMSS.

Robledo showed that there are hospitals and clinics in various parts of the country where they do not open on weekends due to the lack of specialist doctors, even for IMSS-Wellbeing workers, a bonus of more than 10 thousand pesos will be released so that they can Cover those missing work spaces such as: emergency physicians, internists, surgeons, pediatricians and gynecologists in rural hospitals.
