Hwaseong Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun said, “Hwaseong City has been confirmed as the main host site for the 108th National Sports Festival in 2027.”

On the 17th, Mayor Jeong said in a post titled ‘2027 National Sports Festival will be held in Hwaseong City’ on his Facebook page, saying, “I am taking a leap forward to Hwaseong, where I can change my life through sports.”

Mayor Jeong continued, “Last January, an on-site inspection was conducted by the Korea Sports Council, and we directly checked the sports infrastructure in Hwaseong City to determine whether or not it would be possible to host the event.” “Based on our experience, we showed the potential of Korea’s representative sports city,” he explained.

He emphasized, “As this is the first national sports competition to be held in Gyeonggi-do in 16 years since 2011, we will prepare thoroughly.”

Meanwhile, Hwaseong City was confirmed as the main venue for the 108th National Sports Festival in 2027, the 2028 National Boys Sports Festival, and the 2029 National Sports Festival.

In Hwaseong City, competitions in 14 sports are held, including track and field, golf, volleyball, badminton, bowling, shooting, and baseball.
