Hockey goalkeeper Elvis Merzlikin arrived in Latvia – after a season in North America, where he earns money by guarding goals – and, without washing his mouth, immediately attacked Latvian journalists. He said something about the war, that he was giving up, that all the lines had been crossed… I watched this show and thought – here is a great example of what happens to a person when they are put through the usual meat grinder of the professional entertainment industry. And, I thought again – that education always has its reference points.
