High Risk of Injuries for Female Basketball Players: Importance of Training and Prevention Measures

Female basketball players are the athletes with the highest risk of suffering injuries if they do not follow adequate training and do not adopt effective prevention measures, according to recent studies.

According to a recent study carried out by the National Institute of Physical Education of Catalonia (INEFC), among Catalan athletes between 15 and 24 years old, basketball leads the percentage of injured players in team sports, with 48%, surpassing by 10 percentage points the second sport on the list, soccer, which registers 38% of injuries.

This same study reveals that during training is where more than half of the injuries occur, specifically 51%, followed by official matches, in which 29% of the injuries occur.
