Helena Casas and Eukene Larrarte are left out of the Games in Keirin and Ómnium

MADRID, 15 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish cyclists Helena Casas and Eukene Larrarte will not finally be in the track modality of the Paris Olympic Games next summer after not achieving the necessary results in Keirin and Ómnium respectively in the Milton (Canada) event of the World Cup .

As reported by the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation (RFEC), Casas began his competition by concluding the first round of the Keirin in fourth position in a series in which the French Mathilde Gros won. In the repechage, the Catalan improved to be third, but it was not enough for her to access the second round, with the addition that one of her main rivals for the Olympic place, the Malaysian Nurul Izzah Izzati Mohd Asri won her repechage to leave her without Olympic options.

The Basque ‘pistard’ Eukene Larrarte, European runner-up in Scratch, was also not lucky, as she was unable to get a ticket to Paris in the Omnium after finishing in an insufficient twelfth place in the Canadian velodrome.
