Handball: France will co-organize the Men’s World Cup in 2029

It’s now official. France will once again host the Men’s World Handball Championship in 2029, twelve years after its last World Cup at home. Its joint application with Germany was accepted by the international federation (IHF), which made the announcement this Tuesday afternoon, from the Maison du handball in Créteil, on the sidelines of an extraordinary congress.

The Worlds at home are a good memory for the Blues: in 2001 and 2017, they won the title, beating Sweden and Norway respectively.

Note that Germany will already organize, alone, the 2027 World Championship. For its part, France, in addition to the World Cup, has applied to organize the 2030 and 2032 men’s European Championships.
