New details on the sale of Górnik
Małgorzata Mańka-Szulik’s statement shows that the process of negotiations with investors and the selection of a new owner of the club will be completed in the coming weeks. The president of Zabrze declared that she wanted to sell the club during her term of office.
“Once again, I submitted a resolution regarding the privatization of the club to the City Council session, which was convened on April 17 this year. I am prepared and determined to complete this process this term, i.e. by May 7,” we read in a statement quoted by “Dziennik Zachodni” “.
According to media reports, there are three entities in the game to take over Górnik – the owner of Key Solutions, Thomas Hansla (privately, he is well acquainted with Lukas Podolski), DL Invest Group (commercial real estate industry) and the Górnośląska Medical Supply Center “Zarys”. The city hall held preliminary talks with each of the three interested parties, and further meetings are planned.
Everyone interested in taking over Górnik has access to its financial books. Additionally, they must have a ready and planned club budget. A willing investor must take over at least 51%. shares in the club. He will pay just over PLN 4 million for them. In the case of a larger block of shares, the amount will be correspondingly higher. It has not yet been decided whether the money earned from the sale of Górnik will go to the city coffers or whether it will be transferred to the club as part of recapitalization.
“The long and complicated privatization process of Górnik is coming to an end. In accordance with the legal requirements, after announcing its commencement, we invited all interested parties to negotiations. The process must be transparent and open to everyone,” Mańka-Szulik added.
Lukas Podolski is to be involved in the sales process. The mayor of Zabrze revealed that she had offered him “participation as an observer in the final work of the commission.” Górnik’s most important player cares about the fate of the club and how to get out of the chaotic situation it finds itself in. Górnik has no president and sports director, and there are arrears in salaries.

Małgorzata Mańka-Szulik is running for re-election. She got to the second round of the elections for the mayor of Zabrze, winning 21.73%. votes. Minimally, only 0.29%. (154 votes), she overtook Kamil Żbikowski. In the second round, she will fight against Agnieszka Rupniewska, who ran from the Civic Coalition list and received 27.44% in the first round. votes.
