Girona has probably permanently said goodbye to the football title fight in Spain. The Catalans lost 3-1 at Atletico Madrid in the 31st round of La Liga on Saturday. The match winner for the “Rojiblancos” was Antoine Griezmann with a brace. The fourth-placed Madrilenians (61 points) moved closer to third-placed Girona (65).
League leaders Real Madrid (75) will be visiting Real Mallorca in the evening, while FC Barcelona (67) will be playing at FC Cadiz.
