Great intensity in the first quarter of the game. Very balanced match with former Owens and Brown very inspired at the start of the match. But at the end of the half Varese extends to 5 more. Gevi reacts with Ennis who scores 6 points. However, Varese ended the first half ahead with a score of 27-26.
At the start of the second period Milicic’s team started strong, but Varese made a precise three-pointer with Gabe Brown to take the lead again. Gevi with Owens tries to stay in the game, but in the second half of the period Varese with Moretti extends their lead to 50-41. Gevi is imprecise from distance, and Pallacanestro Varese goes into halftime ahead by 11 points with a score of 54-43.
The Azzurri try to react at the start of the third quarter of the game again with Owens, but the gap is still in double figures 66-56. Little is scored, and Ennis misses two important free throws.
