From the Oilers to the Dolphins: The Career of NFL Player Norm Evans

Malcolm Emmons-USA TODAY NETWORK

Evans was taken by the Oilers in the 1965 AFL draft, but lasted just one season with the franchise before being poached by the Miami Dolphins in the 1966 AFL Expansion draft.

Evans went on to have a long, successful stint with the Dolphins, where he won a pair of Super Bowls and earned two Pro Bowl nods over 10 seasons with the team. He was the starting right tackle for the Dolphins’ undefeated campaign in 1972.

The TCU product earned the distinction of being the only player in NFL history to be selected in two expansion drafts after the Seattle Seahawks scooped him up in 1976. Evans played his final three seasons there.
