French Top Scorer Olivier Giroud Signs with Los Angeles FC: A New Chapter in MLS

PARIS, France – The top scorer of the French team Olivier Giroud has reached an agreement with Los Angeles FC, which he will join this summer, AFP learned Tuesday from his entourage, confirming information from RMC.

The 37-year-old striker, at the end of his contract at AC Milan, has signed up for a year and a half and must return to the Californian MLS club from August 1, according to the radio.

After three seasons in Milan, where he was Italian champion (2022), Giroud will experience his eighth club.

Trained in Grenoble, he passed through Istres and Tours before exploding in Montpellier, where he was French champion in 2012.

He then played nine seasons in England, at Arsenal (2012-2018) and Chelsea (2018-2021), with whom he won the 2021 Champions League.

Top scorer in the history of the Blues with 57 goals in 131 caps, Giroud will meet in “LA” his best friend in the French team, ex-captain Hugo Lloris, who retired internationally after the 2022 World Cup .

The record goalkeeper for selections with the Blues (145 caps) signed for LAFC this winter.
