Bitter Wagner debut in the playoffs

The German world champions Franz and Moritz Wagner experienced a bitter playoff debut against Cleveland. There is a chance for revenge on Tuesday night.

Basketball world champions Franz and Moritz Wagner lost their first game in the NBA playoffs. In game one at the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Wagner brothers lost to the Orlando Magic 83:97. The game was characterized by tough defense on both sides, but the Magic revealed some weaknesses in attack.

Against the much more well-known team from Ohio, Orlando had problems from the start, but held up well defensively. Thanks to a strong run after half-time, the guests worked their way back into the game after a 14-point deficit.

However, several attempts by the Magic to catch up were unsuccessful; the hosts kept recovering and stabilizing their lead. Star playmaker Donovan Mitchell (30 points) was particularly impressive.

The second duel in the best-of-seven series is on Tuesday night (1 a.m. CEST), and will be played again in Cleveland. The Wagner team has home advantage for the first time in the third game.
