Former Eintracht Frankfurt professional Evan Ndicka released from hospital

Former Frankfurt player Evan Ndicka has been released from hospital in the northern Italian city of Udine a day after collapsing during a Serie A game. The defender will now undergo further cardiological examinations in Rome, according to a statement from his club AS Roma.

The 24-year-old collapsed in the 70th minute of the game against Udinese Calcio and clutched his chest. He was then admitted to the “Santa Maria della Misericordia” hospital. The complaints that occurred could be related to a chest trauma, according to the club’s statement.

Roma thanked the Udinese Calcio club, the referee, the fans and the medical staff of the hospital. “Together, in these turbulent and anxious minutes, we demonstrated the values ​​of sport and placed the protection of life first,” it said.

After the incident, the game was abandoned on Sunday when the score was 1-1; it will be continued at a later date from the 71st minute. Roma had already given the all-clear in the evening. The club posted a photo on X, formerly Twitter, of Ndicka showing off his strained right bicep in a hospital bed. The central defender was active for Eintracht Frankfurt between 2018 and 2023.
