Giulini, responding to a video posted by a rossoblù fan which shows Infantino’s disappointment at a missed opportunity for the Nerazzurri, preferred to make it ironic: “He applauds – this is the comment of the number one of the Sardinian club – the beautiful save by Scuffet”.
On social media, however, many fans could not digest Infantino’s support: “He should apologize and resign”, thunders one. There is also some insulting. But the wittiest comments are those who prefer to smile. “A behavior… Infantino”, accuses a supporter. Another play on words: “The jockey bet on the wrong horse, Inter winning”.
In general, the fans expected an impartial attitude like the one Infantino usually displays during the World Cup or Champions League finals. And so they couldn’t stand the fact that he behaved more or less like his teammates Zanetti and Marotta, although they were justified because they were organic to Inter.
“Okay – comments a rossoblù fan – Cagliari is always treated like a foreign team. So scoring two goals in front of such an important fan is double pleasure”.
