Football: at 58, the president of OL fractures his elbow while skateboarding in Brazil

The video made Olympique Lyonnais supporters smile. This weekend, in Brazil, far from the match between OL and PSG, their president put on a show with a skateboard. Despite his age (58 years old), John Textor, red helmet on his head, seemed perfectly at ease. On the video, we can see him performing multiple tricks on a small half-pipe.

However, it seems that the situation took a more dramatic turn later. Arriving in Brazil on Wednesday, the man who also chairs the Brazilian club Botafogo may have broken his elbow when falling from his skateboard. According to the Brazilian media Globothe American was operated on this Sunday in Rio de Janeiro after a fall the day before.

Textor was due to attend his club Botafogo’s match against Juventude but was unable to attend due to his operation. Anyone who practiced skateboarding in their youth must have only briefly appreciated the reunion with the sensations of sliding and certainly watched OL’s defeat against PSG (4-1) from their hospital bed. Textor must nevertheless participate in a meeting on sports betting in the Federal Senate this Monday.

In January, John Textor had already made a name for himself off the field. On the sidelines of the 32nd final of the Coupe de France against Pontarlier in Besançon, the Lyon president shared a beer with fans and stuck a supporters’ sticker on the stadium fence. The images had circulated on the networks, reinforcing the sympathy of the Lyonnais towards their president in a period that was still troubled for the Gones.
