The board of directors of the Ferrol-San Cibrao Port Authority has approved renewing Alcoa’s license to continue providing the ship pilotage service in San Cibrao. This will allow the continuity of this activity that the concessionaire of the port of A Mariña provides with its own personnel. Alcoa already had an authorization that was ending this year so, due to the importance of the service for the San Cibrao dock, the license has been renewed for a period of three years.

This is a provisional license granted until the final specifications of particular requirements currently prepared by the Port Authority of Ferrol-San Cibrao are approved to provide stability to the different port services, thus following the guidelines set by State Ports.

On the other hand, the management body of the Port Authority also gave its approval to the continuity of three companies that provide ship provisioning services in the ports of Ferrol and San Cibrao. The board of directors approved the renewal of the authorization for Casa Pepe Vigo SL, Allforsail SL and Dino Theo Atlantis MCSL, thus responding to the request of the three firms to continue present in the ports dependent on the Port Authority. The authorization period is 10 years.

With the renewal of these authorizations, there are eight ship supply companies operating in the Ferrol and San Cibrao docks. This is a fundamental supply and logistical support service for the different ships that arrive at the ports of the Port Authority.
