FC Utrecht Climbs to Eighth Place in Eredivisie Under Coach Ron Jans

FC Utrecht has risen to eighth place in the Eredivisie under coach Ron Jans. The deficit to number six Ajax is only three points and number five NEC is also still within reach. A place in the play-offs for European football now seems almost certain after the 2-3 victory at SC Heerenveen.

“Very clever, especially when you consider where they come from,” says Roy Makaay on the website ESPN. “It proves once again that Ron Jans is simply a very good trainer. They had a very good series without defeats, until they lost to Ajax and Feyenoord.”

“But now two wins again within five days,” the analyst continues. “They are going into the play-offs and that is simply a great achievement. Last year, FC Twente under Jans was of course also great fun to watch. He also made a very smart purchase with Sam Lammers.”
