FC Bayern Munich Dominates Basketball Löwen Braunschweig to Stay on Top of Bundesliga Standings

The basketball players from FC Bayern Munich confidently defended their top spot in the Bundesliga. Two days after exiting the Euroleague, the German cup winners dominated their home duel against the Basketball Löwen Braunschweig with 91:61 (44:31) and thus remain ahead of the Niners Chemnitz.

Third-place Alba Berlin had previously prevailed against the giants Ludwigsburg with 100:91 (55:44) and achieved its ninth BBL victory in a row. Coach Israel Gonzalez’s team failed early on on the international stage.

At BMW Park, the Munich team, where former NBA player Serge Ibaka got a break, took control from the start and never let the lions get past them. Whenever Braunschweig got closer, coach Pablo Laso’s team gave it a little more gas. The game was characterized by numerous interruptions. The technology failed in the final quarter and play could only be continued after a long break. Immediately afterwards, Bayern started a 13-point run and expanded their lead to 31 points.

The leader’s most successful thrower was Sylvain Francisco with 19 points; for the Lions, only Brandon Tischler and Barra Njie scored in double figures with eleven points each.

Hukporti is not yet in the Giants’ squad

In front of 7,446 spectators in the Uber Arena, the Berliners were able to pull away slightly after a tight first quarter and, despite a weak three-point rate of only 28 percent, constantly kept the guests at a distance until the end. They extended their lead to 17 points at one point.
