In FC Bayern’s game against 1. FC Köln, both teams show that their jersey colors are united. This is a challenge for many viewers.
München – There is actually no risk of confusion between FC Bayern and 1. FC Köln. While the record champions appear dominant in many games despite the mixed season, the “billy goats” find it difficult to even get the ball into the goal. The only thing that really connects the two clubs are the club colors: red and white. And apparently both teams insisted on this in the direct meeting on matchday 29 in the Allianz Arena, which the hosts won 2-0.

While FC Bayern played in their official home jersey Cologne’s away outfit. Also meant: white jersey and red pants against red jersey and white pants. The risk of eye cancer was thus factored in.
And on social media, several viewers freely shouted their despair. One user wrote on Twitter: “That looks like my plate after a double portion of currywurst with fries and mayo.” Another said succinctly: “No, great choice of jersey too.” He also posted the well-known picture of the three figures in the Spiderman costume.

This person also reached his own limits early on: “Five minutes in and I get a headache. Who came up with the idea of choosing this jersey (…), I’m in crisis.” Here it was similar: “Am I the only one who can’t see what’s happening on the pitch? Why the hell this jersey combination?”

Even Jonas Friedrich commented on the unfortunate jersey selection and the red-white-white-red afternoon in Fröttmaning. The commentator of Skybroadcast complained during the game: “I’m not really happy with the choice of jersey. There could have been better contrasts.” Frank Willenborg obviously saw things differently. The referee from Osnabrück finally had to approve the choice of color. And he was therefore only too aware of the difference between red-white and white-red.

The game between the Reds from the Isar and the Reds from the Rhine made Bundesliga history because of the same color. Because Bayern only had the red and blue jerseys for the away game on October 27, 2001 and FC insisted on playing in their red home jerseys, the record champions had to wear their white jerseys over their jerseys.
