On Saturday evening (April 6th), the Forth fire department, together with other forces from the Eckenhaid, Eschenau, Herpersdorf, Lauf an der Pegnitz fire departments as well as the district fire inspection, the rescue service and the police, were alerted to an alleged traffic accident by an automatically triggered emergency call. Initially nothing could be found at the specified location. As the operation progressed, the triggering of the emergency call could be clarified. A smartphone that was left on a vehicle roof fell onto the road while driving and triggered an automated emergency notification. Further intervention by the fire brigade was therefore not necessary.
