Exciting Judo Action at the Pan American Judo Open in Santiago de Chile

THE BEST JUDO ON THE CONTINENT IS EXPERIENCED ON THE PANAM SPORTS CHANNEL

This May 4 and 5 we will broadcast the Pan American Judo Open to the entire world that will take place in Santiago de Chile. The best exponents of this sport will seek to earn points that will lead them to rise in the ranking and achieve the long-awaited qualification for Paris 2024.

This weekend the excitement of judo moves to the Contact Sports Training Center in Santiago, Chile, the same venue used for the Pan American Games, which will host a new date of the Pan American Open.

109 competitors from 18 countries will participate in this event, including 3 representatives from Japan and one from Jordan, in addition to the best judokas on the continent who are looking to earn points to qualify for the Olympic Games.

It is worth remembering that the first 17 athletes qualify by Olympic ranking, hence the importance of these tournaments.

Among the most notable figures will be the Ecuadorian champion Lenin Preciado, the great Chilean figure Thomas Briceño as well as the Panamanians, Lilian Cordones and Kristine Jiménez.

Panam Sports Channel and thanks to the support of the International Federation, the Pan American Confederation and the Chilean Judo Federation, will broadcast this Pan American Open live to the entire world.

Brenda Olaya, 78 kg world junior bronze 2023 and Pan American and Oceania runner-up in Rio de Janeiro 2024 at only 19 years old.

Peru
Juan Miguel Postigos 66 kg, Bronze at the Guadalajara 2011 Pan American Games

Multi-medallist in Pan American championships, silver medalist in Rio de Janeiro 2024 in Pan American and Oceania and 3-time Olympic athlete. He is going for his 4th game in his successful career.

Camila Figueroa 78 kg, bronze medal at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games

Diana Brenes 70 kg, bronze medal at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games.
