Everton-Liverpool: at what time and on which channel to follow the match of the 29th day of the Premier League?

Normally, the Mersey derby is necessarily a moment that counts in Liverpool’s season. But the one that the Reds are preparing to play against Everton (16th) this Wednesday at Goodison Park promises to be even tastier than usual. Fully engaged in a breathtaking title fight in the Premier League with Arsenal and Manchester City, Virgil Van Dijk and his partners will therefore pursue a double objective in this late match of the 29th day: local supremacy against an opponent in full fight for its maintenance, and the need not to lose ground on their competitors.

Currently placed on second place in the standings, tied on points with leader Arsenal, who are ahead of them on goal difference, Liverpool also feels the hot breath of Pep Guardiola’s Citizens on the back of their necks. Third with one point less, the Mancunians are one game behind their two rivals. It will therefore be necessary to make no missteps for the Reds wishing to offer a legendary exit to their coach Jürgen Klopp, who will leave his post at the end of the season.

Liverpool deprived of Jota

A meeting that the residents of Anfield approach without Diogo Jota, physically affected during the success won by his partners at Fulham (1-3) last weekend. After going through a period of turbulence, marked by the elimination in the quarter-final of the Europa League against Atalanta Bergamo (0-3, 1-0) and a setback against Crystal Palace (0-1) in the championship, the Reds therefore resumed their march forward towards Craven Cottage.

A victory on Wednesday would also be historic, since it would be Liverpool’s 100th success in the Mersey derby, a confrontation which clearly leans in the direction of the men in red. The latter have only lost one of the last 28 matches against their rival. In addition, Jürgen Klopp could win his tenth derby against Everton, something no coach has ever managed to do in the entire history of the English club.

The match between Everton and Liverpool will take place this Wednesday April 24 from 9 p.m. It will be followed live on Canal +.
